Day of Mourning 2015

The National Day of Mourning is a day to honour and remember the millions of workers whose lives have been impacted by fatality, injury or illness while on the job. On Tuesday, April 28th, 2015, Unifor Local 848 joined other dignitaries and unions for a memorial service in honour of these workers. Unifor Local 848 supports and encourages workplace safety all year round, and honours and remembers all of the lives lost to workplace-related accidents or illnesses.

Party of One

Mark Mathewson, Unifor Local 848 President joins Michael Harris, author of Party of One. Party of One explores how Harper and his government are steamrolling our principles of socially driven democracy and how Canadians should not stand for this. He “examines the majority government of a prime minister essentially unchecked by the opposition and empowered by the general election victory of May 2011.”

We encourage you to read his book and stand by us in the 2015 election as we fight to make a change and stop the Harper government and its anti-Canadian agenda.
